Ottawa Police have confirmed the body pulled from the Ottawa River by Gatineau police Friday afternoon is that of an Ottawa man missing since Monday.
Police had stepped up the search for 67-year old Jehangir Balsara after his vehicle was located  Thursday evening near Island Park Drive and the Sir John A McDonald Parkway area.

On Friday they conducted  a land and water search in the area.

"He's very shy and very sweet and always worried about everyone else," said Balsara's daughter-in-law Andrea Simms-Karp.  "...So the fact that his phone has been off since he disappeared and his cards haven't been used and he's been in contact with no one is not only extremely unusual but  extremely distressing."

On Friday afternoon, Gatineau police pulled a body from the water.

Ottawa police confirmed Friday night that it was that of Balsara.  They say foul play is not suspected.
