OTTAWA - An 18-year-old alleged gang member from Ottawa is facing several charges after someone called police with death threats.

Over the weekend, officers arrested two people they say are gang members and charged them in an attempted robbery.

While the suspects were in custody, police say an unidentified man called the guns and gangs unit and threatened to shoot and kill officers there and in another unit that deals with gangs.

The caller specifically named four officers and threatened them and their families.

Police allege Gutu Daoud is a known Crips gang member.

He is facing four counts of uttering death threats, two counts of breaking release conditions and one count of breaching a probation order.
