Police divers discovered a car containing a body in the Ottawa River Sunday morning after a full day of searching for a missing mother and son.

Donna Graves, 61, and her son Daron Graves, 29, were last seen in Arnprior Thursday night. They never returned home.

Police say the vehicle, recovered from the water near Fitzroy Harbour, is believed to be a Dodge Dart and matches the description of the vehicle being looked for in connection to the missing persons investigation.

Police confirm with media that a lifeless body was located inside the car.  They say the car could not be pulled from the water because of factors like the vehicle’s condition, frigid temperatures and poor visibility.

An update from police Sunday afternoon suggests the car will not be pulled from the water before Monday.

Police say the body discovered is that of a man but have not released the identity.
