Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the death of a man west of Ottawa early Sunday happened during a break-and-enter.

They said 41-year-old Corey Blaskie entered a home on Edward Street North in Arnprior where he had a confrontation with two of the homeowners.

Police said they were called to the scene at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, where they found Blaskie without vital signs.

An autopsy was conducted Monday, but police said they won't release the cause of death right now.

Neighbours told CTV Ottawa on Sunday that a married couple lived at the home with their two teenaged children.

"(A) nice couple, salt of the earth people, good neighbours," said Greg Wright. "Oh yeah, kind of a shock."

The investigation continues, but police say no criminal charges have been laid yet.
