Police conclude double murder-suicide in Gatineau

Police confirmed Thursday three bodies found in a Gatineau home last week is a case of double murder-suicide.

The investigation was launched on Friday into the deaths of 51-year-old Lucie Johnson, 59-year-old Denis Lagacé and 32-year-old Patrick Mongeon-Johnson.

Police say all three were killed by a 9 mm handgun owned by Mongeon-Johnson.

He lived with his mother at the house on Saguenay Street.

Police have concluded Mongeon-Johnson is responsible for shooting his mother and the other man before killing himself.

No comments are being made regarding his mental state.

While the bodies were found last Friday, autopsy results suggest the shooting happened on Wednesday, September 7th.

  Police have not yet identified the deceased. However, family members who stopped by the home on Saguenay Street identified them as Denis and Lucie Lagace, a couple in their 60s, and a man in his 40s who is believed to be Lucie's son.
