Ottawa police have charged a woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 22-year-old man as he crossed the street on Bronson Avenue last week.

Layla Farook Aman was charged Wednesday with failing to remain causing death. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 3.

Aman is charged in connection with the hit-and-run that killed Daniel Miller, of Stratford, Ont. on Aug. 17.

Miller was struck by a vehicle as he crossed Bronson Avenue at Somerset Street West at about 3:10 a.m. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Police say they are continuing their investigation.
