A 19-year-old Ottawa man is facing charges in connection with 12 bank robberies that took place within the past three months.

Roy Harb is charged with 15 counts of robbery, 15 counts of uttering threats and 12 counts of wearing a disguise.

The arrest comes after three separate banks were robbed in the span of two hours on Monday. In all instances, police say a man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. No injuries were reported.

Police say a vehicle of interest was located after the third robbery and two men were arrested. The driver of the vehicle was not charged and has been released from custody.

Harb is charged in connection with several robberies across the city.

Harb was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
