Ottawa police have charged 26-year-old Maxime Morin-Leblanc with criminal negligence, failure to provide a breath sample and driving impaired.
These charges were handed down after an investigation into a fatal crash early Saturday morning.
A woman was crossing the street at St. Patrick and Cumberland just after 3 a.m. when she was struck by a black Honda Accord.
The woman, 27, died on arrival at the hospital.
Police say the car was headed in the wrong direction down a one way street and that alcohol was a factor.
Morin-Leblanc appeared in an Ottawa courtroom Sunday.
