Ottawa police have arrested a man wanted in relation to an aggravated assault against an elderly man in downtown Ottawa earlier this month.

The assault happened on the afternoon of June 15 when an 86-year-old man was attacked by another man for unknown reasons near the intersection of Rideau Street and King Edward Avenue.

The victim was walking through a parking lot when the attack occurred. He was stabbed in the neck and was seen being pushed to the ground by the assailant.

The man survived the attack and was brought to the hospital in stable condition.

Derek Coutinho-Lance was arrested in relation to the incident early Thursday morning. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 29, 2012.
