An undercover police operation led to the arrest of 20 students at nine Ottawa west-end high schools last week.

Two 17-year-old males were charged with trafficking following the week-long sting.

During the operation, police collected more than 100 grams of marijuana, which had a street value of about $1,600.

Police say most of the youth who were arrested were given warnings about using marijuana.

Not the first drug bust at west-end high schools

This is not the first sting targeting drugs at Ottawa west-end high schools.

Ottawa police arrested 19 people and confiscated marijuana, hash and cocaine at five schools in the west-end in January.

Those arrests came after a 10-day investigation into the distribution and use of controlled substances on or near school properties.
