Nearly one year after the bodies of a judge, his wife and a neighbour were found in a luxurious Ottawa highrise, police are appealing to the public to help find a killer still at large.

Police discovered the bodies of Alban Garon, a retired chief justice of the Tax Court of Canada; his wife Raymonde and Marie-Claire Beniskos inside the Garons' 10th-floor residence in a high-security Riviera condo complex near the Rideau River on June 29, 2007.

Police looking for man to help with investigation

Police have no known suspects and continue to appeal to the public for tips on the whereabouts of a man who might have information that could help police make progress in their triple murder investigation.

Police say the man they are seeking was spotted in the elevator at 1510 Riverside Drive on Friday, June 29, 2007 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

He is described as a white male in his early 40s, about five foot eight, and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

The man is also described as having short black hair, with some grey, and a broad nose. At the time, the man was clean-shaven and wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with blue vertical stripes and dark pants.

Crime Stoppers video in the making

Now, police are putting together a Crime Stoppers video in hopes it will jog memories and trigger new leads in the one-year-old case.

"Maybe somebody has a piece of information that they haven't shared with the police yet, and as a result of doing this Crime Stoppers re-enactment . . . it could be the key to resolving this case," Sgt. Claude Parent told CTV Ottawa.

"Many major crimes are resolved as a result of Crime Stoppers information."

Family wants answers

The Garons' family says they support police in their investigation and all they want is an arrest to be made.

"I hope something comes out and anybody out there who knows anything should come forward and say it," said Michel Rochon, who is married to a Garon family member and has been critical of the police investigation in the past.

A memorial for the Garons will be held Sunday, June 29. The Crime Stoppers reenactment video will air on CTV Ottawa on June 30.
