Employees at a pharmacy in the Bayshore area of Ottawa's west end were robbed at knifepoint Saturday afternoon.

At around 12:20 p.m., Ottawa Police responded to a call of an armed robbery at the pharmacy located at 3029 Carling Ave.

Police say a lone male armed with a knife demanded drugs and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of narcotics.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 foot 8 inches tall, in his early 20s with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a red shirt, baggy beige shorts, running shoes, and used a red bandana to conceal his face.

No injuries were reported.
