Ontario Provincial Police have identified the man killed after a stabbing incident near Canadian Forces Base Petawawa as 56-year-old Danny Pietersma.
The incident also left a 55-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl injured. They were listed in serious condition in hospital on Friday night, according to police.
OPP said a 25-year-old man was arrested after a 2.5 hour search by police.
OPP locked down a wide area, deployed the canine unit and the OPP helicopter during the manhunt. The incident happened in a civilian area off the base at 10:52 a.m. Friday near Petawawa Point.
Police say when they arrived at the home they found one adult dead at the scene. Paramedics say it is a middle-aged man.
The Renfrew County Paramedic Chief also told CTV Ottawa two females were critically injured at the home.
OPP were warning residents to secure their homes and to use personal safety precautions.
OPP and military police are jointly investigating.
