A Pembroke man is facing manslaughter charges after a 21-year-old man died after being punched in the face earlier this week.

Pembroke police say Adam Kalincak was assaulted when he was walking with a woman along Bronx Street in Pembroke between Reynolds Avenue and George Street just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the pair was confronted by a man who just left a home on the street. After the confrontation, police say the two men got into an argument about what the couple was doing in the area.

Police say Kalincak was punched in the face and fell backwards, landing on the ground unconscious.

Kalincak was airlifted to the Ottawa Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday.

Brian Parker, 29, was arrested and charged with manslaughter as a result of the police investigation. He appeared in court for a bail hearing on Thursday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Pembroke police at 613-732-9975 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
