Gatineau police say a pedestrian who was critically wounded after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday has died.

The crash happened on boul. Alexandre-Tache around 4:15 p.m., when police said a 44-year-old male driver appeared to have a medical episode that caused him to lose control.

They said the westbound vehicle crossed all the lanes of traffic and hit a 24-year-old man walking east.

He was taken to hospital in Hull with life-threatening injuries. Police originally said he had died, but corrected that report on Monday morning.

On Tuesday, police said he had died late Monday afternoon and his family didn’t want his name released.
