The parents of a missing 18-year-old boy are searching a west-end neighbourhood for any sign of their son.

Michael Pineau was last seen walking southbound on Chesterton Drive, near Meadowlands Drive, in Nepean at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

His family put up posters and canvassed the neighbourhood Friday, asking anyone if they have any information about his whereabouts.

"We would very much love to hear from Michael. We love him; we miss him and we very much want to hear from him. If anyone knows or has heard from him, if they could go to the police, that would be great," said Michael's mother, Liz Pineau, who fought back tears while talking about her son.

She hopes the more people know about his disappearance, the closer they'll get to finding him.

Pineau is described as a white male who is about six feet tall and 190 pounds. He has short brown hair and a mole on his left cheek.

He was wearing a grey and black winter jacket, blue jeans and hiking boots when he went missing.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 7500 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS).
