Pair charged after shot fired in Stittsville

Two Ottawa men face several charges after shots were fired in a Stittsville parking lot early Sunday morning.

The incident began with an altercation between two parties at 10 Mulkins St., according to police. One of the parties left but returned at about 3:30 a.m., firing a single shot at a group in the parking lot.

Police later executed two search warrants on the 2400 block of Richardson Side Road.

Jeremy Jones, 30, and Steven McKechnie, 24, were jointly charged with eight firearms offences and common nuisance.

Jones was also charged with four counts of breaching a firearms and ammunition prohibition, breach of probation, and breach of undertaking. McKechnie faces three additional charges of possessing a firearm or ammunition while prohibited.
