After 34 years of bringing Irish spirit to the capital, the owners of O'Shea's Market Ireland have put the business up for sale.
Owners Ron and Margaret Lewis opened the store, which has become an Ottawa landmark, after the pair took a trip to Ireland to discover their Irish roots.
The Lewis' say many have come to the store to discover their heritage and share stories over the years.
But the store's owners say the shop can't stay afloat in a faltering economy. The bus strike was particularly hard, Ron Lewis noted.
Now, the couple is packing up and entering retirement. They hope to sell the shop to keep O'Shea's part of Ottawa's retail landscape.
