An Ottawa woman is facing 13 charges after ramming into two police cruisers while driving a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning.

Police say they tried to stop the woman just before 2 a.m. in the Centretown area. The vehicle allegedly hit a police cruiser and a police chase ensued. Police say concern for public safety ended the pursuit shortly after when the vehicle entered the downtown core.

The vehicle was later spotted near King Edward Avenue and St. Patrick Street, where the driver rammed another police cruiser before fleeing the scene.

The driver and a female passenger were finally picked up in the Vanier area.

Manon Bastien, 33, is facing 13 charges including dangerous driving, possession over $5000, impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

Laura Schinck, 24, is charged with being an occupant of a stolen vehicle.
