- Top Priority: Residents of Ottawa are facing a property-tax hike that is increasing at a rate which is not sustainable for working families with small children, people with disabilities and seniors on fixed incomes. Strong fiscal management is one of my top priorities. Better oversight and transparency of infrastructure projects with an intent to reform the city’s procurement process with priorities given to local companies, focus more on essential services that the city delivers, and put stop to wasteful expenditure. The reality is that the only way change comes is when you lead by example, if elected I will refuse a pay raise and return the council allowance to city treasuries. Also I will be donating 10% of my salaries to help eradicate poverty and homelessness in Ottawa. Barrhevan is one of the fastest growing and diverse wards, with a number of challenges such as biweekly garbage pickup, poor infrastructure and recreational facilities, and overcrowded schools. My commitment to you is that I will make sure that your tax dollars are not wasted. I believe our best days are still ahead of us if we use our resources properly. I will work closely with small and large businesses to help bring jobs for our residents and revenues to our tax base. I will support Police, Paramedics and Firefighters to insure our children can live in safe crime free neighborhoods.
- Hidden gem in your ward: Barrhaven has its fair share of amenities including parks, schools, recreation, and shopping. It’s a community where the central focus is family and that is apparent everywhere you look! Nepean School of Music has been teaching students of all ages the joys of music for over 30 years! As the business grew, so did the services and they now also have a full service recording studio! If you are musically inclined, make sure to check them out. Gym Tale with a huge indoor playground and reasonable drop in rates, Gym Tale is a destination of choice for many Barrhaven families! They also offer a variety of programs including summer camps, a nursery school, and birthday parties.

Hadi Wess
- Top Priority: Infrastructure. As the fastest growing ward in Ottawa, it is important to provide our beautiful Barrhaven with all the necessary services to keep it growing and that includes infrastructure. Intensification in Barrhaven pushes for improved infrastructure and more accessible transit. Once elected, I will work on improving all the roads to provide comfortable commute for residents to and from their houses. I will also push for LRT and a better transit system with express lines.

Whether it be Cristal Café, the recipient of the First People’s Choice Award; or the Stonebridge Golf Club, one of the finest championship golf clubs in Ottawa; or the Minto Recreation Centre. Our diverse communities and inspiring businesses create our gem that everyone loves and wishes to live in regardless of everything else - that gem is our Barrhaven.
