An Ottawa technology firm that makes a range of anti-terror devices is cutting 15 per cent of its global workforce.

Although Allen-Vanguard's CEO maintained the firm is operating in a growth industry, David Luxton said the company needs to lower its overall costs.

The company said most of the cuts are related to the production of its high profile anti-terror bomb suits which are used in many of the world's hot spots.

The company will be laying off 100 people. Although most of the employees are in Britain, some work in Ottawa.
