An Ottawa teacher, charged with sexual assault and sexual interference, is now free on bail.
57-year-old Naoum Abi-Samra, a teacher with Ottawa's French Catholic School Board, was charged after allegations he made sexual comments and inappropriately touched one of his female students.
Police say the alleged incidents happened between January and March, during school hours at Pierre-Savard Secondary School.
Abi-Samra has been suspended since March 11, 2016, when the board launched an internal investigation.
He appeared in court this morning with his family by his side. He was released with several conditions, including he not be alone with anyone under the age of 16.
Ottawa Police are asking anyone with information to come forward, they are concerened there may be more alleged victims.
Abi-Samra is due back in court May 9.
