Ottawa Police are warning the public about buying items from someone selling goods out of the trunk of a car in a parking lot.
They say one man was randomly approached and bought three leather jackets after being told a seemingly true story about why they were for sale.
Police say the items are often fake and are reminding everyone to exercise caution when purchasing items from non-legitimate business vendors.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, standing five foot, eight inches tall with short, balding dark brown hair. He has an Italian accent and is fluent in English, French and Italian and has small hands with a scar on one thumb.
If you have been approached, or are a victim of this or a similar scam, you are asked to contact police.
