Ottawa police have charged two of their own officers. This brings the number of Ottawa police officers who are suspended with pay to a total of five.

Const. Dean McLaren is facing theft and fraud charges. He allegedly bought $1,000 worth of personal gas using a police service gas card.

His colleague, Det. Jeff Gulick was removed from active duty after uttering death threats to two other police officers.

Police say they used a taser to calm him after a domestic situation last week.

Both officers will make court appearances in June.
