The latest mugging happened Monday morning at 6:20. A 58-year-old woman exited a bus and walked from the South Keys transit station. She was accosted from behind by a suspect who demanded money.

The victim broke free from the suspect and dropped her purse. The suspect took some money and fled.

The suspect is described as being a man with a darker complexion, between 5’4” and 5’6” tall, between 20-25 years of age, wearing a dark jacket and pants.

It is not clear if this incident is connected to 10 other personal robberies in the South Keys area.

Ottawa Police say they have stepped up patrols in the area.

City Councillor Diane Deans and the Police Chief will be hosting a community safety meeting at the Greenboro Community Centre (363 Lorry Greenberg Drive) on Wednesday, November 27th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
