Ottawa police have one man in custody after two men were shot and killed in the lobby of an apartment complex on Prince of Wales Drive near Hog's Back Road late last week.
Police say the man was arrested Sunday night and charges against him are expected to be laid Monday evening. Police would not say what those charges may be.
The arrest comes after Warsame Okie, 25, and Hayder El-Abadi, 18, were found inside the entrance at 1435 Prince of Wales Dr. by police at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses had reported hearing gunshots.
One man died at the scene, and the other was taken to hospital where he died from his wounds. The men were the city's eighth and ninth homicide victims of the year.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
