Ottawa police have issued an arrest warrant for a man facing charges in a bizarre kidnapping and assault case from last month.

Police allege 26-year-old Jake Hopwood, whose last known address was in Toronto, is involved in a kidnapping and robbery that stretched over two days, with the victim finally being dumped in a wooded area near Gananoque.

Three other people have already been arrested and charged with a series of offences including robbery, forcible confinement and extortion.

Hopwood was simply referred to as “J” by his associates.  At the time of the other arrests, police released a picture of the man they were looking for, now identified as Hopwood.
