OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section is investigating two separate incidents involving a suspicious male at Ottawa outdoor pools.

On Friday, July 26, 2013, at approx. 2:00pm, a suspicious man was seen taking photographs of children at the playground and pool area of Weston Park located at 955 Pleasant Park Drive. A pool staff member attempted to approach the male, who left the area on foot walking towards Elmvale Mall.

The man is described as a male of Asian descent, 5'6" (168cm), approximately 60 years old, medium build, dark hair, wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap.

On Wednesday, July 31st at approx. 2:00pm, several children all under the age of twelve were approached by a suspicious male at the Katimavik Pool located at 64 Chimo Drive.

The man asked them to follow him into nearby bushes. He was seen taking pictures of the children prior to approaching them. Pool staff members were alerted of the incident and attempted to identify the male who fled the scene on foot. He was last seen jogging away in the direction of Katimavik Road near the Kanata Town Centre.

The man is described as a male of East Indian descent, 5'6" to 5'7" (168cm to 170cm), small build, approximately 50 years old, wearing a white baseball cap, grey coloured jacket, grey pants, white running shoes, and prescription type glasses.

In both incidents, pool staff members contacted police. It is unknown at this time if it is the same male involved in both incidents.
