Ottawa police investigating New Year's Eve assault in Centretown

Ottawa police are looking to identify a suspect in connection to a New Year's Eve assault in Centretown.

The alleged incident happened in the area of Lyon Street North and Albert Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Police say the suspect had a brief exchange, "before the victim was physically assaulted."

The victim did not suffer serious injuries.

Police say the suspect is described as a white woman, around 20 to 30 years old, with blond hair. At the time of the alleged assault, the suspect was wearing a long, white winter jacket and carrying a black bag.
