OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Break & Enter Unit is investigating two overnight break-ins in the Sandy Hill area.
At approx 4:35 a.m., a suspect entered into the first residence through an unlocked door. A female victim was awakened by the suspect in her bedroom. While officers responded to this incident, another break-in was reported a few blocks away. The victim was also awakened by the suspect in her bedroom.
A search of the area by officers and the canine unit was not successful in locating the suspect. The victims were not physically injured in either case.
The description of the suspect is as follows: Dark skinned black male, head shaved bald, 6’0”-6’3”, 20-30 years of age, med-muscular build, wearing a long sleeve grey or beige sweater (possibly a hooded sweatshirt).
The Ottawa Police urge residents to be diligent in ensuring their doors and windows are always locked.
