OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section is investigating a complaint of a sexual assault that occurred in the Father Richard Ward Park in Ottawa on December 18, 2013 at approximately 11:15 p.m..

That evening, a girl in her early twenties was walking through the park at Bordeau Grove and Vineyard Drive when she was grabbed from behind and pushed to the ground. The male sexually assaulted the victim and then fled the area.

The male suspect is described as thin build, 5’9-5’10” (175-177cm), wearing a black ski mask, black hood, black parka type jacket, black boots and dark gloves. His face was covered and as such there is no race information available.

“Ottawa Police believes that no person deserves to be harassed, stalked or assaulted sexually,” noted Staff Sergeant Angela McDade, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section. “We consider that these criminal incidents are very serious and we investigate them fully.”
