Ottawa Police are searching for a male suspect in a carjacking and abduction.

Ottawa Police say that just before 8 Saturday night, a family of 5 stopped their grey 2003 Toyota Sienna minivan at a Booth and Somerset store.  The two adults went into the store and were soon followed by their 17-year-old son.  A 3-year-old and a 5-year-old were left alone in the unlocked, running vehicle.  Both children were asleep.

The suspect then reportedly stole the minivan, hit a parked car across the street, followed by a second car on Bayview.  The suspect them crashed the vehicle into a building on Garland Street and ran from the scene.

The two children were found safe inside the crashed minivan.

The suspect is described as a male aged 34 to 40 years old, standing 6 feet tall with a thin build and dark, short hair.  He was last seen wearing jeans and a brown or green jacket.
