Ottawa police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect wanted in connection to one bank robbery and another attempted robbery on Wednesday.

Police say the male suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash from a CIBC bank in the Gloucester Centre on Ogilvie Road at about 3:30 p.m.

The same suspect later entered the Bank of Nova Scotia in the Beaconhill Mall, also on Ogilvie Road, at about 5:05 p.m. Although police say he demanded cash, he was not given any money and fled on foot.

He's described as a white man between 25 and 30 years old, clean shaven, with a slim to medium build. He's about five feet 10 inches tall with short hair. He was wearing a black and white baseball cap, sunglasses, a black zip-up jacket and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call them at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-TIPS.
