35 year old Amber Smith hasn't been seen since Monday. She is the second sex trade worker to disappear in September. Smith's disappearance comes days after police discovered the remains of Amy Paul. Paul been missing since early September. Police have been searching the Osgoode field where Paul's body was found. Investigators now say she was murdered.
Ottawa police are asking sex trade workers to be cautious. "Our concern is here, through the investigation, there has been some evidence to show us someone is targetting sex trade workers, " says Ottawa Police superintendent Tyrus Cameron, Superintendent of Criminal investigations directorate. "We want to get this message out to the sex trade workers to be cautious. there may be someone out there targetting you."
