OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Service Break & Enter Team has charged Tyrell James ZLOTEN, 19 year old, of Gatineau with Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
He is alleged to have been attempting to sell property which was stolen from a residential break & enter in Ottawa on a popular online classified site. The victim of the break & enter contacted police after recognizing their property online and investigators were able to retrieve the property and return it to the owner.
He appeared in Show cause court this morning.
Ottawa Police reminds the public to always contact police first, if they find their property being sold online. There have many incidents of people being injured or further victimized when they attempted to retrieve property on their own.
