28 year old Jay McGinn died yesterday after being in a coma for five days in a Toronto hospital. McGinn was struck by a car in Toronto's Kensington Market on Saturday, May 10. He was waiting to get in a cab, standing on the driver's side of the car when he was struck.

Police allege the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. 31 year old Karen Fyfe was arrested in connection to the collision and charged with failure to stop causing bodily harm. Fyfe appeared in court and was released on bail. Toronto Police say Fyfe's charges are expected to be ungraded because McGinn has died from his injuries.

Fyfe's next court appearance for the existing charge is June 16.

McGinn grew up in Kanata and attended Earl of March high school.
