At a west-end Ottawa mosque, Muslims pray in solitude. However, many in the faith said they are united in their shocked reaction to terrorism charges against two Ottawa men.

On Thursday, two men were arrested at west-end Ottawa residences, with boxes full of evidence carted away.

RCMP are no longer at the house of Misbahuddin Ahmed. However, his wife and seven-month-old daughter have yet to return home.

Ahmed's employer knew of CSIS investigation

Ahmed has been an X-ray technician at the Ottawa Hospital since 2008.

Four months ago, CSIS agents told hospital officials of their national security investigation. Ahmed was kept in the dark about the operation.

In a statement, the hospital says it conducts criminal background check on employees: "If the check reveals a criminal record, the hospital reviews the record to determine the suitability of the hire."

'The entire community is under attack'

The president of the Muslim Women's Community Association says the accused are misguided and that they give all Muslims a bad name.

"Once something like this happens, the entire community is under attack," says Nazira Tareen.

She adds suspicion is hurting his community, not just in Ottawa but worldwide.

"The floods in Pakistan -- some people in Canada were saying we shouldn't help because its a a Muslim country, and Muslims should be helping Pakistan. When you get statements like that, you have to wonder."
