Ottawa police are searching for evidence near Kemptville in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old Ottawa man who was shot and killed during a home invasion last month.

Police have a team of investigators looking for clues near Highway 43 -- south of Ottawa -- in connection with the killing of Michael Swan.

"It's a search as part of our investigation into the homicide on Moodie Drive," Const. J.P. Vincelette told CTV Ottawa on Thursday afternoon.

He said police spent hours searching the area on Thursday. He refused to comment further.

Swan was killed after he was shot at his rural home on Moodie Drive on Feb 22. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Three men from the Toronto-area are charged with first-degree murder in the killing.

Kristopher Allan McLellan, 20, Dylon Tyrone Barnett, 19, and Kyle Mullen, 19, were arrested on Highway 401 just east of Gananoque in the hours following the murder.
