An Ottawa man is expected to face charges following a head-on collision Tuesday evening in Val-des-Monts, Quebec.

MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police say the crash happened on Highway 307 north of Gatineau around 6:45 p.m.

The two drivers, a 28-year-old Ottawa man and a 64-year-old woman from Gatineau were trapped in their vehicles for a long stretch of time before they were rescued by firefighters.

Both were taken to hospital in Hull with none-life-threatening injuries.  The woman’s legs were fractured in the crash.

The 28-year-old man will be charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Highway 307 was closed during the police investigation, but has since re-opened.
