An Ottawa man is dead after drowning while kayaking on Dalhousie Lake near Perth on Canada Day.
The drowning happened when the kayak 31-year-old Peter Thibodeau and a friend were travelling in capsized at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say Thibodeau was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident and was also a weak swimmer.
The Ontario Provincial Police marine unit recovered Thibodeau's body early Tuesday night. An autopsy on his body is scheduled in Ottawa on Wednesday.
