A 62-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with attempted murder after a bizarre south-end incident Sunday morning that left a woman hospitalized.
Abbas Saramgar was also charged with aggravated assault and breach of undertaking. He was scheduled to make a court appearance Monday afternoon.
Police initially described the affair as a "fight" near Bank Street and Athans Avenue, south of Hunt Club Road. A driveway was been taped off around a car covered in blood, and a second scene was cordoned off at a nearby residence.
The 54-year-old female victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
