A 49-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm after a retail robbery earlier this month.
The robbery happened on September 5 at 7:45 p.m. when a lone man entered a communications store in the 600 Block of Somerset Street West.
The suspect made a demand for a cash register to be opened. The employee refused the order and he was subsequently assaulted. He suffered minor injuries.
The suspect fled the store with nothing.
John Field is charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
