OTTAWA -- An Ottawa man is facing numerous charges in connection with alleged death threats made against the city's mayor and transit service.

It's alleged the man was using transit station emergency call boxes to make threats against OC Transpo and Mayor Jim Watson on Saturday.

Const. Chuck Benoit says the accused made a total of five calls dating back to August.

Benoit says officers pinpointed the location of the weekend call (at the South Keys Transit Station) after it ended and made an arrest.

Christopher Bartraw, 27, is charged with three counts of uttering threats and three counts of false messages.

He was released on bail after a hearing on Sunday.
