An 18-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with several sexual assault offences after two incidents in Ottawa's west end on Saturday.

Police said they responded to cries for help from an 18-year-old woman in the area of Windways Crescent near Eagleson and Fernbank roads in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said she was a victim of a “violent sexual assault” and that officers were led to a home in the area where her alleged attacker was located and surrendered to police.

Police said their investigation revealed the accused also allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old girl on Nov. 30.

Police said both victims did not know the accused but had met him just prior to the incidents.

Abdiaziz Yusef Ali has been charged with sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, two counts of forcible confinement, three counts of breach of probation order and with uttering a death threat.

Ali appeared in court on Sunday. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Dec. 6.
