Ottawa man arrested and charged with several gun offenses

OTTAWA -  The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit is advising that Nicolas KIM, 28 years of age, from Ottawa was arrested and charged this afternoon in relation to a shooting incident in July 2012.

On July 28, 2012, KIM was involved in a shooting incident in the area of Lees Avenue at Robinson Avenue, Ottawa, where one male victim suffered injuries. Investigators learned through this investigation that the person responsible for the shooting was in fact KIM.

KIM is currently in custody and will be appearing in a show cause hearing on March 8, 2014 where he will be facing the following charges:

  • Use Firearm Carelessly x 1
  • Possess Prohibited Firearm without Holding a License x 1
  • Possess Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a License x 1
  • Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime x 1
  • Possess Firearm While Prohibited x 3
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life x 1
