Charges withdrawn in alleged child-luring case
UPDATE: In April 2023, the Crown withdrew all charges against the accused. Since charges have been dropped, CTV News Ottawa has removed the accused's name from this article. The original article, as amended, continues below.
An Ottawa man was charged in March 2022 with child luring after allegedly contacting young girls online for sexual purposes.
Police said they were notified in January of several incidents in which a man contacted girls under 14 for sexual purposes via social media platforms, including gaming channel chat rooms.
The accused was charged with three counts of child luring. Charges have since been withdrawn.
