Ottawa Health Scare: What you need to know

Ottawa's Medical Officer of Health released the name of the clinic and procedure which has put 6,800 people at potential risk of contracting HIV, Hepatitis B and C.
Public Health officials say the private clinic was run by Dr. Christiane Farazli and is located at 1081 Carling Ave., suite 606.
What you need to know
The procedure: Endoscopic (gastro and colonoscopy)
Time period: between April 2002 and June 2011
Hotline: 613-580-2888 (staffed by nurses)
Letters were sent out by registered mail to those who may have been exposed.
Dr. Isra Levy says the risk of infection is extremely low:
- chances of getting Hepatits B is one in a million
- chances of getting Hepatitis C is one in 50 million
- chances of getting HIV is one in 3 billion
There is no evidence to suggest anyone has been infected.
