Ottawa gas prices hit a new barrier today when Costco Merivale Road posted a litre of regular gasoline for 79.9 cents.
That's a price not seen in the capital for more than five years.
Most gas stations are posting a price near 89 cents Friday morning.
There are cheaper prices along the Merivale Road strip and at some locations in Orleans.
Gas industry experts say the slide in world oil prices will likely continue because OPEC countries are refusing to cut down on
production.
