Ottawa police are assisting with an investigation in Calgary after a known gang member from Ottawa was shot and killed at a reggae party over the weekend.

Police say 20-year-old Abdullah Hussein from Ottawa was killed and three others were injured when a gunman opened fired on a crowd at a community hall in Calgary early Sunday morning.

Calgary police, who suspect the shooting is drug related, said the hall was rented for a social function.
