Ottawa's deputy fire chief is moving to Windsor to head that city's fire department.

Bruce Montone will become the fire chief for the City of Windsor on Sept. 6.

Montone has been a firefighter for 30 years. He's been Ottawa's deputy fire chief for the last nine years. Previously, he worked with Ontario's Fire Marshal's Office.

Montone will take over as fire chief when Windsor's current chief retires.
